THE hardworking ladies of Hannahs’ Ivybridge Supporter Group have added £500 to their ever increasing total for the charity, this time with a stall at the recent Yealmpton Show.

The volunteers raised the money by baking and selling no fewer than 90 cakes, as well as running a ’Guess the Name of the Cow’ competition. The winning name was Ruby.

As well as carrying out another successful day’s fundraising, the ladies received a fourth prize rosette from the show organisers for the presentation of their cake stall, and in recognition of their efforts on behalf of the local charity.

The group’s chairman Mary Watts said: ’I want to say a huge thank you to all the members of our supporter group and their friends and families for baking so many cakes.

’It is always great for our small group to feel we have been able to raise a substantial amount of money and to enjoy the privilege of meeting and chatting to parents and families of Hannahs students. We are all keen to raise awareness of our very very special local charity.’

The group is now busy organising its next fundraising event, an autumn lunch at Boringdon Park Golf Club with special guest Jennie Bond on Tuesday, September 27.
