Kingsbridge Police officers have been called out to deal with two animal related situations in two days.

Some people say not much happens in the South Hams...

Kingsbridge officers said they were dealing with a "proper Hot Fuzz moment" yesterday, when they were called to a "swan causing traffic problems on the A379 by Flete Bridges" and then today they were called to reports of a cow on the A379 between Ridge Road, Ermington, and Church Lane, Modbury.

Despite the best efforts of the police officers to lend a hand to their animals friends, both animals appear to have saved themselves without police assistance.

By the time officers made it to Fleet Bridges, the swan had "jumped over the bridge and was happily swimming along the river" and the cow on the A379 was "nowhere to be seen".

No luck catching them swans then?
