SCARECROWS, live music and donkeys made this year's Yealmpton Primary School summer fair a huge success.
The community turned up in large numbers to support the event and to make the fair more of a village occasion.
More than £2,800 was raised from the fair, which will go towards everything from equipment to subsidised school trips.
Scarecrows appeared in their numbers around the village in the build-up for the village competition at Saturday's event.
The fair had something for everyone, with live music, a licensed bar, donkey rides and the bouncy castle all proving popular.
There was also the usual crafts and fair games available for all the family to enjoy on the day.
Kerry Thorne, from Yealmpton Primary School's PTA, said: 'It was a great day – we raised over £2,800, which will all go towards the school.
'The feedback has been great. Although it was the school event, it was more of a village occasion; we were delighted by the turn-out. The scarecrow competition was brilliant – it proved very popular, as did the barbecue, bouncy castle and the high tea.
'The money raised will be spent on library and sports equipment and will also be used to subsidise school trips.
'It was just a great day all round.'
