HANNAHS Ivybridge hosted a Royal Garden Party on Sunday to celebrate the Queen’s official 90th birthday, raising £1,250 for its work with disabled young people.

Guests from Ivybridge and the South Hams joined Hannahs friends and families for a day of patriotic fun and games.

Mayor of Ivybridge David Gray-Taylor officially opened the event, which was supported by Ivybridge Town Council. Visitors enjoyed a range of fun activities including crown making and crafts as well as lawn games such as egg and spoon race, three legged race, croquet and more. There was also a bouncy castle, a Royal photo booth, face painting and raffle, and the Queen and Prince Phillip even paid a visit.

Executive lead at Hannahs Ivybridge Izzy Guest said: ’I am delighted that we raised enough money to buy some new sensory equipment for the garden and I was so moved by how Hannahs staff gave up so much time to organise such a fun and successful event. Also I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to support us.’

The Woodlands centre houses a school for children with physical and learning difficulties as well as provision for young adults, a respite centre and children’s home.
