Ivybridge U15s 46,

Stonehouse Sharks U15s 5

After some intensive training with a couple of Ivybridge first XV players, Ivybridge took to the field with much more determination, ably led by their talisman captain George, who had been absent through injury.

From the kick-off they tackled with intensity and closed down any Stonehouse advance.

They dominated the first scrum, George broke from the rear but unfortunately Matt G was unable to control the ball.

Again and again, Ivybridge moved forward creating a number of excellent running opportunities that fell short through some disappointing handling errors.

However, they kept their composure, regrouped and continued with expansive play resulting in a wonderful three-quarters move allowing Joe to score their first try.

Tommy added the second try, again from a running move and was instrumental in the third. Having beaten his opposite number, he almost reached the try line but was stopped; he then delivered a neat inside pass for Seb to take the points.

Ivybridge were now ruling the gam,e scoring a try before half time and another two almost immediately after, both from long-range runs by Oscar and Seb.

To their credit Stonehouse continued to battle, claiming a well-worked forwards try and holding back Ivybridge for much of the second half.

However, Ivybridge soaked up the pressure and then responded, with Dan scoring after recovering a loose ball, and a final thrust from the forwards produced a converted try.
